This style of book is meant to be used with dot markers. A lot of books come with a set (and charge you a premium for them!), but I use Artistro dual tip acrylic dot markers. I find them great quality, good ink coverage and reasonably priced.
Acrylic markers don’t usually bleed through paper, but just to be safe I use a sheet of Ohuhu marker paper in between my pages when I color.
